About
Tara Powers is a distinguished 4th Generation Authentic and Classical Pilates Teacher, dedicated to preserving and teaching the authentic method developed by Joseph Pilates and Romana Kryzanowska.
As a direct lineage holder—trained through a traceable chain of teachers stemming from Pilates’ original students and founders—she upholds the authentic method’s rigorous standards and holistic approach to body conditioning. This sets her apart in Orillia and Simcoe County, where she operates the region’s only fully-equipped, Authentic and Classical Pilates studio, offering the complete array of original apparatus for transformative practice.
Tara’s foundation in movement science is rooted in her Bachelor of Kinesiology from McMaster University, equipping her with an in-depth understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics essential for guiding clients through Pilates. Complementing this, her degree in English enhances her ability to communicate effectively, fostering meaningful connections and clear instruction in every session. Committed to excellence, Tara continually advances her expertise through specialized travel for training and immersion in Pilates.
Prior to founding More Life Pilates, Tara built a successful career in disability insurance, specializing in case management and rehabilitation. This experience honed her unique talent for managing complex, medical cases, promoting sustainable and lasting recovery.
At More Life Pilates, Tara empowers clients to experience the profound benefits of true Pilates, far beyond contemporary or reformer-focused variations, delivering results that rebuild strength, alignment, and vitality from the inside out.
“You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.”
